The short version of my mission statement. The second part, having a positive impact or influence on others, originates from the moment when I thought I was having a near-death experience, and felt this immense sense of relief and satisfaction when feeling that I had been able to have a positive impact and influence on those close to me. In that moment, I felt that my spirit would live on in those people, and the positive impact I had managed to have on them. The first part then originates from the reality that most people actually think they are "the good guy" and that they are trying to do what is good, but in their lack of wisdom and perspective, they end up doing things with negative [[Nth-order consequences]]. **Other components and ideas related to my purpose and mission:** - I want to seek universal and timeless truths, capture them, understand them, internalize them and synthesise them into my own framework and mental network. - I am pulled towards simplicity because my mind is very complex and my nature is to think in very complicated and fluid terms. When I am capable of finding the simplest truth in a given situation, and to capture it's essence in words I can store for my future self or share with others, I feel happy. - As an obsessive and constant thinker, I create a lot of thoughts and ideas throughout the ordinary course of my life. I feel a deep desire to capture them and organize them in a way that makes sense in the long-term, so that I can build and compound knowledge and wisdom throughout my life instead of always being disappointed at having forgotten something, or looking back to a period in my life when I felt like I deeply understood something and feeling a sense of regret and loss. - [[Self-Knowledge]] and [[Personal mastery|Self-mastery]]: I feel a deep sense of purpose in more deeply understanding my Self, and gaining mastery over my thoughts, emotions and desires. Understanding my strengths and weaknesses, and shaping them like a bodybuilder in the gym, is something that resonates with me.
